ALROSA to cut Internatsionalny mine output in 2019–2022

MOSCOW, Jun 20 (PRIME) -- Russian diamond mining giant ALROSA will cut the development plan of the Internatsionalny mine by 500,000–800,000 carats a year in 2019–2022, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

First Deputy CEO Igor Sobolev said, as cited in the statement, “We are starting planning for future years, we will consider intensifying development of other deposits and balancing the production plan. We will also work on reduction of the deadlines for necessary works on the Internatsionalny field.”

The changes will not influence the output forecast for 2018 of 36.6 million carats, ALROSA said.
